Direct Relief International (DRI) is another American-based NGO offering medical relief and health assistance to the poor and victims of natural disasters or civil strife worldwide. This organization, which was set up in 1948 donates medical supplies for disaster relief and charitable health care institutions. DRI works with local and international organizations within the concerned country. This ensures that those in this field can identify the specific materials required for each situation. In 2005, DRI provided medical supplies to partner organizations in 53 countries.
The Foundation has contributed by clearing these supplies through customs and then stored the same for DRI since the liberation of Iraq.
